Regional Areas

South East Wales is made up of ten local authorities. Each area has its own personality and strengths that make it unique. The ten local authorities are:

  • Blaenau Gwent
  • Bridgend
  • Caerphilly
  • Cardiff
  • Merthyr Tydfil
  • Monmouthshire
  • Newport
  • Rhondda Cynon Taf
  • Torfaen
  • Vale of Glamorgan

Through Capital Wales and organisations such as the South East Wales Economic Forum the local authorities are proactive in collaborative working through issues such as job creation and worklessness, through to having a co-ordinated approach to business initiatives, private sector partnerships, and business support. It also means that the region makes the most of its investment.
