Finance Wales
Finance Wales is an independent company owned by Welsh Government. It provides commercial funding to businesses and invests both private and public funds, including European Union finance. Finance Wales makes commercial investments in businesses throughout Wales at all stages of their development, from formation to pre-floatation. The company invests in start-up and early stage businesses, development capital, creative commercial projects and succession deals and has a flexible yet focused approach to investment. To qualify for commercial investment from Finance Wales, you must employ fewer than 250 people and have an annual turnover no greater than €50 million. Investments include:
- Debt and equity investments
- Early stage, expansion and management succession deals
- Follow-on investments
- Structured investment packages
The minimum investment is £5,000 with a maximum investment in a single round of £2 million. Decisions on investments up to £25,000 can be approved in 5 working days in most cases.
